Dr. Christopher Coker
Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
I treat each patient as an individual and customize my examination to meet the different visual and ocular needs of every patient. Whether a child with difficulty concentrating when reading or an adult with a red and swollen eye, I will find the cause of the problem and create a treatment plan specific to their needs.
What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?
Keratoconus, specialty contact lenses, pediatrics
What are you proud of in your practice?
As an office, we want every patient to enjoy their experience at our office at each visit. We treat every patient like we would a good friend or family member. We provide thorough examinations and will walk you through the process of obtaining glasses or treating your eyes in order to provide you with clear vision and the healthiest eyes possible.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I most enjoy treating keratoconus, a condition in which the front of the eye is "cone shaped," with specialty contact lenses. Most often glasses do not provide these patients clear vision and a rigid gas permeable (hard) contact lens is necessary in order to see well. However, these contact lenses are often uncomfortable, and can move around or pop out. New advances in this area have provided us with hybrid contacts allowing for better vision and comfort. The process of fitting them takes patience but the outcome is almost always worth it, as it provides clear vision with a comfortable lens.
