About
Beginning therapy can be a daunting and anxiety producing process. Is this person reliable? Are they somebody I can trust with my private thoughts and feelings? Feeling carefully and thoughtfully listened to, understood and accepted, will be crucial for you to be able to talk freely about sensitive and sometimes painful issues. I have over 20 years experience helping individuals (children & adults) and couples to build more trusting relationships so that life's problems can be effectively addressed. In a supportive and empathic environment I focus on helping people to recognize their own needs in a variety of situations, to recognize their own strengths, to see more possibilities for themselves, and to feel more optimistic about their futures. In developing greater trust in themselves and others, greater self confidence and healthy self assertion is achieved. Over the years I have seen considerable benefit in focusing on what is felt within the therapeutic relationship as a valuable source of understanding and discovering possibilities for change.
