What makes your practice special when compared with others in the area?
During my work with clients I take a compassionate, accepting and empathetic approach in order to facilitate a strong therapeutic relationship. My aim is to create a safe space where clients can begin their process of self-exploration and develop greater self-awareness. My approach does not focus on diagnosis, but on each client's strength and capacity for meaningful change and self-growth. My work is inspired by a holistic view of the individual - physical, psychological, social and spiritual - and recognizes that each of these elements play a part in our mental wellness. My therapeutic orientation incorporates elements from several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioural, Experiential-Humanistic and Emotion-Focused therapies. My work also focuses on helping clients develop greater self-acceptance and compassion.
What are you and your team proud of at your practice?
I provide one-on-one psychotherapy to adults dealing with a range of psychological and emotional concerns, including but not limited to stress/anxiety, depression, perfectionism, life transitions, eating disorders, substance abuse, sexuality, trauma, grief/loss, work-related issues, self-esteem/confidence, family/relational and attention/learning related issues.
