In addition, Shab has completed 5 work placements through the University of Waterloo co-op program, specializing in ergonomics & injury prevention in the workplace. Committed to being a lifelong learner, Shab has completed several continuing education courses including sport/k-taping, vestibular rehabilitation, levels 1 & 2 through the Canadian Association of Manipulative Physiotherapists (CAMPT) & the contemporary medical acupuncture program through McMaster University. Outside of the clinic, Shab enjoys staying active while playing baseball & volleyball. He is also a travel junkie and is always ready for the next adventure.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

As a freshly minted physiotherapist, I am very excited to apply the latest research and findings to my practice. My knowledge of injury pathology and rehab protocols is as current as it can be, and I am eager to apply that knowledge to help my patients accomplish whatever their rehab goals are. Whether it’s return to sport, work, or living your daily life free of functional limitations, I want to help you get there.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

Top 3 treatments I focus on are: Vestibular disorders such as vertigo, rehabilitation of orthopaedic injuries such as ankle sprains/ACL ruptures, & peripheral nerve stimulation to enhance muscle recruitment.

What are you proud of in your practice?

I'm proud of the fact that I spend my days helping people move better and return to function. Whether it means getting back on the court, back to work, or just back to day to day life, let me help you get there.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

For me, every case that comes in the door is a new challenge. I enjoy treating all manner of orthopaedic cases – ranging from tennis elbow to knee pain – as they allow me the opportunity to put my manual therapy skills to work and fine tune my process with every new patient. More specifically, I have an interest in vestibular rehabilitation and previous experience treating individuals with vestibular disorders including benign positional vertigo and high velocity vestibular loss. I look forward to completing formal certification in vestibular rehab as I progress my career.
